RECONNAISSANCE SQUADRON

BEALE AFB

The 12th was form on June 2nd 1917 as the 12th Aero Squadron and throughout it service career as mostly operated in the reconnaissance role. Later flying RB-26, RB-66 and the RF-4 and now continuing with the RQ-4A Global Hawk with which it has already seen operational service over both Afghanistan and Iraq 

The 12th Reconnaissance  Squadron was reactivated on 8th November 2001  with the RQ-4A Global Hawk( UAV)  at Beale AFB and assumed the 12th original emblem of an eagle carrying a bomb.
